20 Apr:  Heavy levanter cloud over the Rock, town and harbour and low cloud over the Strait, dissipating by early afternoon to give a sunny and clear day.  Winds moderate easterly.

Migrants in the Alameda Botanic gardens consisted of a Melodious Warbler and a Pied Flycatcher.

Migrants in the Europa Point area consisted of a Turtle Dove, a Nightingale, a Tree Pipit and a Yellow Wagtail.

A Whimbrel was present at Sandy Bay, and a Balearic Shearwater was seen heading west.

There was a Barbary Partridge and a Nightingale at Camp Bay, and single Woodchat Shrikes at Campion and Commonwealth park.

A Robin was present at Europa Mews, a Northern Wheatear was observed along Europa road, and a Puffin was observed two miles off the east side of the Rock.

A flock of 155 Griffon Vultures were observed over the Rock in the afternoon.

A Nightingale was singing close to Morrison's carpark, with another seen at the Alameda Botanic gardens.

A flock of 24 Black Kites flew north over the Observatory mid morning, and a Sparrowhawk around midday.  Also some Bee-eaters were heard.

Three Great Tits present near St. Joseph's estate.  A Pied Flycatcher was observed around Middle Hill, and a White Wagtail around Europa road.

North Front cemetery held three Woodchat Shrikes, two Orphean Warblers, a Whitethroat and a Bonelli's Warbler.

No ringing due to strong winds at the site.

A good passage of hirundines, finches and some raptors from the Observatory until 11:00.

A Nightingale wes present in gardens along Transport road.  North Front cemetery held three Turtle Doves, two Woodchat Shrikes, two Garden Warblers and a Northern Wheatear.

There was a Black-eared Wheatear at North Front cemetery and a Wryneck at Europa Mews.  A Pied Flycatcher was observed at the Piazza in the middle of the town, with another two at the top Cable Car station.  A Redstart was present at the Botanic gardens.

A Hoopoe was seen at Europa foreshore and three Swallows flew north.  A Grey Heron and a Woodchat Shrike were present at Westview promenade.

Two Common Sandpipers were present at Western beach, and Bee-eaters were heard over Europa Point.

A Hoopoe was seen at Camp bay, with another at Europa foreshore. Three Northern Wheatears were resting on the groyne at Sandy bay, with another on the Sand Slopes.

At North Front cemetery there was a Hoopoe, a Woodchat Shrike, three Chiffchaffs, a Northern Wheatear and a Corn Bunting.
