Eurobirdwatch 2021
EuroBirdwatch21
This year, GONHS once again celebrates bird migration with the rest of the BirdLife family in Europe and Central Asia. Organisations throughout the continent will be participating in the event, which takes place during the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd October.
At this time of the year, millions of birds are flying south to spend the winter in Africa, and many of these fly past Gibraltar. Migration is happening all around us.
For public health reasons, we will once again be limiting our activity to an afternoon sea watch at Europa Point on Saturday 2nd of October, 3pm-6pm, in order to enjoy birds at an outdoor venue that allows social distancing. Please do join us at Harding’s Battery, where as well as bird migration, we hope to witness the usual spectacle of hundreds of Cory’s Shearwaters and other seabirds feeding on flying fish alongside other seabirds, dolphins and tuna.
In addition, we invite you to submit any records of birds that you see during the weekend.
Come join us!
