GONHS at BirdFair
The Society was represented by our hard-working council member Jill Yeoman, at the Bird Fair held at Egleton Nature Reserve at Rutland Water, Oakham from the 17th - 19th August.
This is the second consecutive year Jill has taken posters, banners, Bird Reports, Nature News and other literature to the Bird Fair, which attracts thousands of visitors over the weekend. Represented are worldwide Societies, NGO's, nature tour companies Eco-tour operators, Optic and camera vendors, with rows of telescopes and camera equipment on show for aspiring enthusiasts and professionals alike. There are film shows, talks, demonstrations of ringing, sales of nest and bat boxes, wildlife painters and sculptors exhibiting their best wares, etc.
Many more nature orientated functions and vendors were there, too many to list, but worth a visit.

So book now for next years Birdfair and see what there is on offer.
Two good friends at the Birdfair; Ricard Gutierrez from 'Rarebirds Spain' website and our Bird Report editor Ernest Garcia.
The proceeds of this year's Birdfair will support the creation of Argentina's largest national park, in the process providing a refuge for nearly a million flamingos and shorebirds.
