INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF
BIODIVERSITY

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity, and a number of special events will be organised.

The week ending 22nd May will see a number of events, including an exhibition and a presentation on Gibraltar’s Biodiversity.

Details will be given in the Gibraltar media, on this page, and will be circulated to all members in the GONHS e-mail group.

For inclusion in this group please contact albert "at" gonhs.org (members only)

NATURAL HISTORY COURSE

The next course will be held in spring 2010.

Subjects covered will include reptiles and amphibians, birds, plant life, marine life, bats, caves and cliffs, conservation and invertebrates.

There will be a fee of £20 (or £10 for under 16s).  The talks will be held at The Cottage, Alameda Botanic Gardens, usually starting at 7.30pm and finishing around 9.00pm. Starting time for weekend outings and assembly points will be settled at the preceding Thursday talk.

Everyone completing the course will receive a certificate of attendance.

Enquires course "at" gonhs.org, or call the GONHS Membership Secretary on telephone 20041235.

OUTINGS

The meeting place and time for outings is given below.  Please note that we have introduced a variety of times and days of the week in order to encourage more participants.

We have chosen those destinations that have been most popular or successful in recent years. Anyone wishing to attend should get in touch with the given contact during the week prior to the outing, in case, as happens on rare occasions, weather or other circumstances dictate a change of plan.

Participants attend outings at their own risk. GONHS does not take responsibility for any loss, injury, or other accident.

Participants should also make their own travel arrangements where necessary as the Outing leader may not be able to organise this.

Please note: Although we welcome visitors or anyone wanting to experience these outings as guests, we ask that anyone attending subsequent outings enrol as a member.
